The designer’s drawing lives or dies in the execution

A light cove whose line waves, a ceiling that telegraphs under raking light, an edge that is not crisp: in interior design, the execution detail IS the luxury. QUASART brings to interior architects and decorators what facade work taught us — laser-checked flatness, string-line edges, pride in the gesture. Our plasterers execute contemporary plaster features: light coves, bulkheads, double-level ceilings and straight cornices, in board and plaster, with lighting profiles integrated from the framing stage.

The finish level has a name: Q4 — the full-surface skim intended for raking light, satin lacquers and deep colours that forgive nothing. We practise it with its real requirements — skim across the entire surface, mechanical sanding, inspection under raking light — and we say it honestly: Q4 belongs where it will be seen; a careful Q3 is enough elsewhere. Moulded ornamental plaster — ceiling roses, period mouldings, heritage restoration — is a specialist workshop craft: we integrate it into projects with partners, under our coordination, rather than imitating it.

Our way of working with designers is simple: finish samples and witness areas before generalising, clean phasing with other trades, systematic protection, handover under the final lighting. Based in Crauthem, we operate across the Grand Duchy and the Greater Region. AXA decennial insurance (policy 10/0214108). QUASART S.à r.l., Luxembourg Trade Register B253631.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions — Interior finishes

Yes — it is the heart of our high-end plastering. Indirect-light coves sized for the chosen light source, bulkheads and double-level ceilings on metal framing, straight contemporary cornices, joints treated for a perfectly continuous line. Lighting profiles are integrated from the framing stage, in coordination with the electrician — never retrofitted.

Honestly: moulded ornamental plaster (ceiling roses, period mouldings, heritage restoration) is a specialist workshop craft. We do not imitate it — we integrate it into the project with specialist partners, under our coordination, when the design calls for it. Our own territory is contemporary plasterwork: coves, bulkheads, straight cornices, sculpted ceilings in board and plaster.

Q4 — Level 5 — is the highest finish level for boarded surfaces: a skim coat across the entire surface, sanded, meant to remove any visible trace under raking light. It belongs where light grazes the surface — ceilings with light coves, walls receiving satin lacquer or deep colours, halls washed with natural light. Elsewhere, a careful Q3 is sufficient and protects the budget: we advise room by room, honestly.

Yes — it is our favourite configuration: a designer who draws, us who execute. We price from drawings and detail booklets, propose witness areas before generalising, contribute to technical coordination (luminaire integration, invisible access panels, shadow gaps at wall bases) and hand over under the final lighting. The designer keeps creative control from start to finish.

On our packages, yes: plastering, skim coats, painting and acoustics move under one direction, with clean phasing — no sanding after painting has started, no lacquer before substrates have stabilised. For specialist packages (moulded plaster, cabinetmaking, decoration), we integrate our partners into the programme under our coordination: the client keeps a single point of contact.
