Questions about drywall
Everything you need to know
Single frame with 1 × BA13 + 45 mm wool = Rw 42 dB. For Rw ≥ 50 dB (recommended between dwellings), a double frame or enhanced frame with 90 mm rock wool and 2 × BA13 each side is needed.
Up to 15 kg/point with expansion anchors. For heavy loads (TV, cupboards), timber reinforcements are built into the frame during installation. Placo Habito allows direct mounting up to 20 kg without anchors.
A 4-bedroom apartment (approx. 100 m² of partitions) takes 5 to 8 days for a 2-person team — frame, boards, insulation and jointing included. Painting is additional.
BA13 is plasterboard with paper facing (cheaper, lighter). Fermacell is compressed gypsum fibre board (mechanically stronger, no paper facing = no mould, better acoustics). Fermacell costs 50-70% more but lasts longer.
Yes — with moisture-resistant boards (Knauf H13, Placo Hydro). For showers and pools, QUASART uses Aquapanel cement boards that resist permanent immersion. SPEC waterproofing (under-tile protection system) is mandatory.
Yes — it’s one of the main applications of suspended ceilings. Adjustable plenum height from 5 to 50+ cm. Routing of electrical cables, ventilation, plumbing. Integration of LED spots, smoke detectors and sprinklers.
